“I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who abides in me while I abide in him produces much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 ISV

3 ways you can join Project 155

Individually: Daily Prayer Prompt
Everyone can participate in this core element of Project 155! Every day at 1:55 p.m. in your own time zone, simply pause to pray for one minute. We encourage you to reflect on BCM’s mission to reach children and strengthen the church as you pray. Based on John 15:5, the effectiveness of our ministry is solely dependent on God, who produces fruit. You can set your alarm or calendar notification, so you get into a pattern of prayer.

In Groups: Weekly Gathering
We also encourage you to pray in community regularly with fellow laborers for Christ! You can initiate a weekly gathering – in person or online – to come together for the purpose of prayer. The BCM International Ministry Center weekly gathering is one example. Each Thursday, IMC staff gather in person and remotely with members of the International Board of Directors, leaders of key initiatives and global colleagues. This time is dedicated to Scripture reading and focused prayer for the global BCM community. Whom can you initiate weekly prayer with to pray for God’s work through BCM and beyond?

In Community: Monthly Get Togethers
In addition to individual daily prayer and weekly group prayer, Project 155 encourages friends of BCM to take prayer into the communities in which they serve. Depending on your location, you may want to plan a monthly outing at different locations. This can be at nearby churches or ministry partner headquarters, or you can gather at local restaurants or public parks within your neighborhoods to pray in and for your communities. Once a month, the International Ministry Center staff members meet in person to pray at a different organization.

Heritage of Prayer
BCM International’s mission of reaching children and strengthening the church began when Bessie Traber followed God’s direction to start Bible clubs for children. Even before BCM was founded in 1936, Bessie covered her ministry in prayer.
Today BCM is equally committed to prayer. Thousands of missionaries and volunteers serve in more than 56 countries around the world; the vast majority of these are nationals who are reaching their neighbors with the good news of Christ. All BCM ministry is God’s ministry. We are dependent on Him, and being steadfast in prayer is one way we acknowledge this dependence.

“Prayer is not in addition to our work.
Prayer is our work.”
-BCM President Dr. Rick Rhoads
